General Motors Commends MOTOR’s Data Governance

Last year, representatives from General Motors commented on MOTOR’s work with OEM vehicle data content. Their thoughts echo our commitment to the responsible governance of the data OEMs entrust us with.

“MOTOR offers vehicle data sourcing, integration solutions and approved business processes that meet GM’s aftermarket data licensing requirements for accuracy, security and transparency,” GM Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) representatives note.

MOTOR maintains extensive standards when it comes to handling OEM data. Chief among them are security, responsible governance and transparency. We are pleased to know that GM has recognized these qualities in our business processes.

To uphold these standards, we maintain extensive and meticulous practices.

  • All data is stored in a private, secure environment that requires authentication.
  • Access to data is authorized and controlled by use case.
  • OEMs can see where and how their data is being used.

MOTOR’s relationships with OEMs benefit the industry as a whole. Each OEM partnership allows us to continually expand our data offerings and provide the most timely and accurate information possible. For OEMs, we enable expanded business into such areas as collision and merchandise wholesale and customer-pay service. We also help increase trust between consumers and manufacturers, as parts and services for their vehicles are increasingly accessible when the data is available for licensing through MOTOR.
